Bert's education includes a BS from Kansas State University in 1974, and a DDS from the UMKC School of Dentistry. He was in the Phi Kappa Phi Honor Society, the Omicron Kappa Upsila Honor Society, and received a Mosby Scholarship Book Award and a Psi Omega Scholarship Award. His professional memberships include the Fifth District Dental Society of Kansas, the Kansas Dental Association, the American Dental Association, the LD Pankey Alumni Association, the American Equilibration Society, and the American College of Dentists. Bert's civic and charitable activities include donating dental services and the Richard Dan Forth Foundation. Bert and his wife, Pam, live in Stilwell, Kansas. They have 4 children: Bert, Ryan, Bert III, and Jenna. His hobbies include flying, boating and all kinds of sports.
