Scissors, Paper, or "Stone" - Which One Comes Out On Top?

DeDe Stone, DeDe Stone Insurance

They say that no good "stone" goes unturned. That is certainly not the case when it comes to the best in health insurance benefits, because DeDe Stone of DeDe Stone Insurance is the person in touch with what’s going on in today’s volatile healthcare marketplace. Even though she does write personal insurance policies when requested, her forte is small to medium sized businesses with 5 to 500 employees that provide health benefits to them. She goes into a company and gets them to change the way their health benefits are structured (ex– higher deductibles saves employees dollars), thus decreasing their out of pocket expenses. There are also HSA’s – health savings accounts – for both health and dental – that you could use, or let it accumulate when you need it. And DeDe also has access to disability insurance which she says is almost essential in today’s business world. When an owner becomes disabled, his or her income goes away, and bills increase, and then you are left with nothing if not for your insurance! Getting disability insurance as a group is relatively inexpensive, but individuals is slightly higher. So whatever your insurance needs, DeDe can sit down with you and evaluate the best possible plans for your needs. So give her a call today!!

Can You Count On Your Accountant When You Need It Most?

Bill Eckinger, Rubin Brown

There is always one person you can "count" on…...and you know who that is – your accountant. And having experience on your side doesn’t hurt either. Bill Eckinger of Rubin Brown – Kansas City is a partner in the firm. His Navy training and Big 5 experience set him up to start his own firm in ‘79. They built this business servicing major companies, construction, manufacturers, auto dealers, non-profits, and employee benefits firms. They were approached and merged with Rubin Brown in 2005, and now have 35+ employees in the KC office. Rubin Brown is the largest law firm in St. Louis (350+), and services companies such as Applebee’s, Hallmark, and KU Athletics here in KC. Bill tries to get out and meet new people, networking to get the company new business. They can compete with the big firms because they give better service and are more affordable than them as well. Bill works mostly in company audits, but RB’s other divisions include a small business practice, taxes, forensics, fraud, sale of a business, and employee benefits plans for companies with over 100 employees. We Thank Bill for his expertise and loyalty to Prospectors during the years he has been a member.
